We currently have an exciting 2 year Fixed term opportunity for an Operations Support Officer to join our Barcaldine Power Station within Energy Queensland.

The role

As the Operations Support Officer you will be responsible for providing a wide range of site operations and administrative support to the Barcaldine Power Station, Cheepie to Barcaldine Gas Pipeline and un-regulated operations and maintenance activities for Energy Queensland.

The candidate

Your demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of administrative duties along with your data collation skills to ensure efficient service to internal and external stakeholders will be critical to your success in this role, as will your:

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and experience;
  • Ability to organise, plan, effectively use time management skills to coordinate resources to deliver agreed outcomes on time;
  • Ability to work independently to undertake a diverse range of support work;
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and application of MS Office Suite and competent in the use of SharePoint, Ellipse & Reporting software.


This opportunity is currently open to suitability qualified internal Energy Queensland, Ergon Energy, Energex & Yurika employees, the external market and current labour hire.

This position has been evaluated as Administrative Employee Grade Four (AE04). Remuneration will range from $67,962- $74,500 per annum (9 day fortnight). The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Union Collection Agreement 2017.
