Policy Adviser Jobs Vacancy in Paxus Sydney Jobs Details:
Our NSW state government client based in the Sydney CBD is looking for a Policy Adviser to join on a 6 month initial contract with view for extension. This role sits as part of a high profile NSW state government program overlooking planning approval pathways in NSW. This can include projects dealing with urban design design, architecture, strategic/statutory planning reform and local council processes.
Provide advice to external stakeholders in relation to exempt and complying development, over the phone and by email.
Assist the team in the delivery of the Exempt and Complying education program by providing a range of administrative activities, including coordinating working groups and committees, to support stakeholder engagement as well as policy development and implementation
Assist the team in the delivery of a range of policy related projects and initiatives to facilitate the timely delivery of policy objectives
Contribute to the preparation of draft correspondence, papers, and minutes to support the development of policy initiatives
Respond to routine policy queries to provide consistent advice and information
Requires at least 3-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Requires a good understanding of the NSW planning system and planning legislation and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Government sector experience ideally.
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills; Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
