How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne…
Your accountabilities as the Graduate Landscape Architect is to support the Landscape Architects with tasks to deliver public realm projects across Council including pre-design, design, documentation, tendering, construction contract administration, budget maintenance and reporting and evaluation.
Reporting to two Principal Landscape Architects, the scope of your role is to provide key support to Landscape Architects at all levels and breadth of project complexity to enable maximum learning and development opportunities across the full range of project management delivery.
To be successful in this role you will enjoy collaborating effectively with people at all levels where you will take into account a variety of points of view when making decisions. You will thrive on building effective relationships; facilitating cooperation through strong partnerships to achieve agreed outcomes and effectively managing expectations. Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence
A relevant tertiary qualification to degree level in landscape architecture
Relevant and demonstrable work experience related to building projects of high value with varying complexity in a large and diverse organisation with multiple stakeholders
Strong relationship building skills and strong analytical, lateral thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to take the initiative
High level written, visual and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey and effectively impart project information and influence outcomes
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic and innovative team environment working co-operatively towards shared objectives.
Computer literacy in word processing and other standard office software, and high standard of competency in computer drawing packages including AutoCAD, and desktop publishing software (Adobe suite). Familiarity with other software packages applicable to 2D and 3D design communication and documentation are desirable.
