  • Sydney CBD and Gosford locations
  • Can be full-time, part-time or job-share arrangements
  • Salary Range $108,044 - $119,061 (Grade 9/10)

We are a strategic policy hub responsible for delivering law reform and strategic policy across the broad range of legislative areas covered by SafeWork NSW and NSW Fair Trading.


Our Branch has delivered a large number of diverse projects, and is centred on addressing key policy challenges, such as:

  • How can we improve protection for victims of domestic violence who need to break their lease to escape violence?
  • How do we let people rent out their home to travellers while reducing negative impacts on neighbours?
  • How can we stop people who buy concert and sporting tickets from third party sellers from being ripped off?
  • Are our Work, Health & Safety laws strong enough to reduce workplace fatalities by 20% and serious injuries by 30% by 2022
  • Can we improve the quality of building and construction through more professional and accountable certifiers?
  • How do we make it easier to start a small business and stay in business in NSW?
To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • previous experience in a senior policy role and/or managing and leading teams
  • experience in policy development, analysis, review and implementation
  • strong project management skills and exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • sound understanding of government policy and processes along with relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent in-depth experience/knowledge relevant to policy work or management
