We are currently seeking self-motivated and enthusiastic customer service professionals, who share our passion for delivering excellent customer service to join our award winning Contact Centres based in Rockhampton and Townsville.

Ergon Retail is a regionally focused and customer centric operating business of Energy Queensland, with teams located in Townsville, Maryborough, Rockhampton and Brisbane. Ergon Retail supplies electricity to about 700,000 customers across a vast operating area of over one million square kilometres (around 97% of the state of Queensland).

The electricity industry is undergoing significant change driven by customers, communities, digitisation and regulatory reform. Ergon Retail is embracing this change and when combined with our unique customer base presents significant development opportunities for our people and communities.

Permanent full time and Part time opportunities are now available for suitably qualified candidates available to work on a varying roster between the hours of 7:00am - 6.30pm Monday to Friday in a modern, open plan Contact Centre, handling a large volume of inbound customer enquiries.

Our Customer Care Representatives are responsible for delivering high quality customer service in response to customer enquiries via the telephone, relating to move in/move out, account/billing and payment plans.

Remuneration for this opportunity will range between $59,073 - $83,542 annually. The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position. Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Energy Queensland Retail Union Collective Agreement 2017.

Please note: Remuneration for permanent part time arrangements will be paid on a pro-rata basis.

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability in:

  • Delivering a professional customer service;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and structured environment;
  • Highly self-motivated individuals, who thrive to achieve KPI’s in a very target driven environment;
  • Intermediate to Advanced computer skills;
  • Full range of availability within our opening hours (7:00am - 6:30pm Monday to Friday).


These positions are expected to commence on 12th November 2018 in both Rockhampton and Townsville, you will need to be available for 18 business days of full-time paid training prior to commencing as a Customer Care Representative.
