Position Information Melville High School is a comprehensive, coeducational High School located on the Macleay River on traditional Dunghutti lands, with an enrolment of 630 students, including 28% Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. There is a support unit comprising a mix of 6 classes. The school provides opportunities in academic, sporting, cultural, and creative and technology learning areas and implements programs to develop social and vocational skills. Student support structures emphasise effective learning, student wellbeing and Positive Behaviour for Learning. The school enjoys strong links with the Macleay Public Schools. It has well-resourced teaching spaces, twenty classrooms fitted with electronic whiteboards, a library which supports traditional and electronic research in conjunction with four computer laboratories. Approval to teach Science 7-10 and Agricultural Technology 7-10 / Agriculture 11-12.
Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VET teacher training in Primary Industries – Agriculture, providing the qualification entry benchmark is met.
Demonstrated capacity to integrate positive behaviour for learning (PBL) and literacy initiatives into effective classroom practice.
Demonstrated ability to effectively differentiate learning experiences to engage, challenge and inspire diverse learners using future focused pedagogies.
Demonstrated experience working as a team member; to assist in managing the school farm.
