About the opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a casual Endorsed Enrolled Nurse located at our Mayfield office, servicing clients in their home throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Port Stephens, NSW. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for providing clinical support and guidance to older people that enhances their unique physical, psychological, social and spiritual wellbeing. Key responsibilities include;
Participating in the undertaking of client assessments and care planning processes
Facilitating quality, timely and effective care that reflects the unique needs of each client
Providing clinical care for older people aligned with current legislative and professional standards and guidelines such as basic wound care and administration of medication injections
Communicating well with clients with varied needs and backgrounds in an environment where care needs can change rapidly
Enrolled Nurse, endorsed by Australian Health Professional Registration Agency
Approved to administer medications
Current Australian Drivers Licence
Skills and Experience
Key to the success in this role is the demonstrated ability in the below skills and experience;
A good understanding of contemporary aged care and clinical practice in a community setting
Insight into how relevant state and Commonwealth legislation impacts aged care services in the home
A good knowledge of aged care standards relating to home care
Great written documentation and assessment skills
Tech savvy with a good grasp on client/data management systems and a knack for learning new programs
Great communication skills and the ability to get along easily with others
Able to problem solve, negotiate, mediate and resolve conflict
Great understanding of Work Health and Safety Principles and infection control
Confident leading and contributing to a team
Previous experience in the aged care sector and clinical nursing
Degree or higher qualification in Health Science or Applied Science (Nursing)
Post graduate qualification in a speciality relevant to aged care
