About the Role:
This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a small Fund Accounting Team to successfully deliver fund accounting services to our superannuation clients. The purpose of the position is to deliver a streamlined and seamless approach across all superannuation services to ensure effective and proactive two-way dialogue with Operations, Risk and Compliance and Technology Teams. As the Fund Accounting Team Leader and key business partner to internal and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for providing strategic insights and advice to support decision making, and continuously improve processes and procedures to ensure Mercer provides a cost effective standardized offering that delivers tangible value for our clients.
Responsibility for ensuring the following client deliverables are prepared and peer reviewed to ensure delivery in accordance with client expectations and supporting Service Level Agreements:
Fund Accounting Services
- Management Reporting
- Financial Accounting
- APRA Reporting
- Data processing & analysis
- GL Journals
- GL Maintenance
- Instalment and Business Activity Statements (IAS/BAS)
- Unit pricing tax provisions and alignments
- Deferred tax asset management
- Contributions tax management
- Tax returns
- Client system migrations
- Product changes
- Process improvements
- System implementations
- A Tertiary Degree in Business OR Accounting is essential. CA or CPA is preferred.
- Extensive experience working within the Financial Services Industry, ideally within Superannuation or Tax.
- Demonstrated people management experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
Please note: This role is Sydney based, however, frequent travel to Wollongong is required.
