The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
Applicants must have a minimum of an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance); certification to practice as a Paramedic in Queensland; or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner QAS.Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland “C” Class Driver's Licence (for a manual motor car) prior to the closing date for applicants. Interstate and international applicants must hold an equivalent licence at the time of applying and will be expected to obtain a Queensland Driver's Licence upon appointment.It is an express condition of employment for all people who are to perform roles with direct patient contact, to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following infectious diseases during their employment, as specified within the QAS Infection Control Framework: Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough); Hepatitis B; Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR); Varicella (Chickenpox); Influenza; and Tuberculosis. Possession of a National Security Clearance is highly desirable.Whilst not mandatory, tertiary or postgraduate qualification/s in emergency management, business or another related discipline will be highly regarded.

Superior leadership and management capabilities and experience in delivering effective emergency management programs within a complex emergency medical system organisational environment. Demonstrated experience in contemporary best practice emergency management planning, education delivery and policy development, and the proven ability to provide authoritative advice in relation to emergency management strategies and procedures. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills and the proven ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with a track record of achieving required performance standards and organisational objectives.Proven ability to successfully lead and inspire a large, diverse and multi-disciplinary workforce in an environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources. Demonstrated capacity to identify and develop new ways forward and think strategically and creatively to provide innovative and effective solutions to new or existing issues. Demonstrated commitment to implement practices which promote a fair and ethical workplace, employment equity, cultural diversity and occupational health and safety.
