We have been doing this for 65 years and are still innovating in disability accommodation and support today. Recent growth has now created the opportunity for a Residential Nursing Unit Manager to join our ranks.
As a Residential Nursing Unit Manager, you will be required to lead and manage quality client nursing and support services consistent with the Disability Service Act 1993 and Achieve Australia's policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring services are in line with current support service philosophy which promotes improvement in quality of life and fosters independence for clients with a disability who have a range of functional abilities and complex needs.
Direct, co-ordinate, support and supervise nursing staff units in accordance with client need.
Undertake clinical services, budget control and monitoring, human and other resource management.
Provides support and advice to their supervisor on quality assurance and policy and procedures in the areas of clinical services, human and other resource management.
Assists in the assessment and review of overall performance, undertaking analysis, observation, investigation, interviews and audits as required.
Coordinating and reviewing person centred support services that are consistent with individual/lifestyle plans; monitor and coach nursing staff with the implementation the plans goals, expected service standards and associated complex client matters.
Building work relationships with local community partnerships (including families and carers) and with other stakeholders both within and external to Achieve Australia.
Ensures, implements and manages a commitment to employment equity and diversity, workplace health and safety (WHS), risk management and ethical practices.
Ensuring the systematic approach to implementation of new/revised policy and process through staff briefings, training, monitoring, process and protocol development, records management and stakeholder communication. What We Offer:

Rewarding place to work. To be successful in this role you will be required to address the following selection criteria:
Registered Nurse (RN) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with 5 years' experience in a similar role or management role.
Experience in leading, mentoring and managing nursing teams, whilst being able to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate services including allied health and directly manage emergency situations.
Ability to prioritise, problem solve and adapt to changing environments.
Experience in working with individuals who have challenging behaviours and/or complex needs.
An understanding of human rights and issues affecting people with a disability and their significant others.
Commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS), risk management and ethical practices, with demonstrated understanding and commitment to all legislative requirements affecting disability services
Sound interpersonal and communication (written & oral) skills; administrative and organisational skills and computer skills.
Current Working with Children Check and NSW Driver's Licence (Green P2 or Full). Desirable Criteria:
