Depending on your preferences and/or home country you will be based in Amsterdam, London, Chicago, Sydney or Singapore. In the first weeks you and your fellow graduates will attend the Global Clearing Graduate Programme training in Amsterdam in which you’ll get to know the ins and outs of the bank. Besides a broad training to get to know the business, working on your personal development is a key component of the programme. Trainings are facilitated by experts, professional trainers and ABN AMRO Clearing managers. Together they will give you a solid basis for further development within Clearing. In this programme you will be part of an international group of graduates allowing you to build a global network. A great start to your ABN AMRO Clearing career!
In the 12 month programme you will have two business rotations. You’ll take full responsibility for your own assignments. You could, for instance be working on product or service improvements, developing a new risk model or you may be involved in the on-boarding of new clients. You will start your first rotation in your ‘home’ country and the second rotation you will gain experience abroad in for example Singapore, Sydney, Chicago, London or Amsterdam. During your rotations you’ll get to know as many different parts of the organisation as possible. You’ll get a chance to branch out into the fields of Risk, Finance, IT/Innovation, Products, Operations or Commerce; broadening your knowledge base and network. After 12 months, you’ll be ready to find a role that best matches your skills and ambitions.
Your working environment
In banking, Clearing denotes all activities from the time a commitment (buy or sell) is made for a transaction until it is settled. Clearing act as an intermediary between clients and the exchanges they trade on. We become the buyer to the seller and seller to the buyer taking over the risk to reconcile orders between the parties in the transaction. Clearing is necessary for the matching of all buy and sell orders in the market. Clients include professional traders, investment managers and corporates with whom we have longstanding personal relationships. What is your experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably followed by a Master’s degree;
- No more than two years of work experience;

During the entire 12 months of the Global Clearing Graduate Programme, you'll receive dedication and guidance from your line manager, assignment supervisor, trainers and mentor. In addition, ABN AMRO Clearing offers you extensive soft and hard skills training that allows you to increase your technical knowledge, deepen your understanding of financial markets and products, and further develop your personal skills. You'll also be working together with your fellow graduates throughout the programme.

- Assessment day in Amsterdam/London/Chicago/Sydney/Singapore (depending on what your home country is) including: an interview, online game and presentations from different people within Clearing who will tell you all about our company, the different roles and the content of the programme;
- Call to discuss start date, location, job offer and VISA (if necessary, we will take care of this).
