Drive the implementation of WCM Programs to improve total employee involvement by motivating and engaging employees to participate in WCM activities via a positive attitude and willingness to change traditional mindset. The provision of WCM methodologies and the methodical support of Teams defining and spreading WCM standards best practices throughout designated manufacturing plants with the objective of achieving Bronze status
Facilitate working of various Pillar committees within the overall framework of WCM. (Noting that we are our sites are classed as ‘Small Sites’.)
Conduct workshops, training sessions and regular audits to ensure World Class Manufacturing operating standards are designed and implemented.
Responsible for the WCM roll-out & fulfilment of objectives :
Launch WCM pillars: a) IE -Industrial Efficiency b) EHS & c) Quality.
Follow correct ‘route/step’ process within pillars. Deploy pilot projects, attack to reduce/eliminate machine & productivity losses : (i) attack labour/organisational losses (ii) quality rejection reduction processes (iii) risk reductions.
Support the management team in the review of progress and identification and implementation of measures to ensure the World Class Manufacturing program is achieved
Collect, collate and analyse data to chart progress of the plant against the World Class Manufacturing plan, recommending measures to overcome adverse variances.
Ensure communications are fully deployed and answers to questions/points of clarification are given on time, to deliver the required understanding and commitment to WCM
Train employees as required in the approach, tasks and techniques of WCM and review effectiveness of the training. Prepare Monthly reports and match with Group requirements
Coach and support teams to enable them to meet the deadlines of the WCM programme and plan
Liaise and network with other Saint-Gobain plants for the purpose of cross audits and best practice identification. The use of the SG Audit table is imperative in this process.
Environment and Occupational Health & Safety (EHS)
Work safely to protect themselves and others from injury and follow all Company policies and procedures OHS instructions on health, safety and environment, quality and employee welfare
Use and maintain safe standards of work and comply with standard operating procedures which apply to their tasks.
Not interfere with or misuse anything provided by the employer (equipment, signs, etc.) that is used to keep the workplace safe.
Identify health, safety and welfare hazards in the workplace and report them as soon as practicable to supervisor/manager/leading hand or other designated person.
Co-operate with supervisor/manager/leading hand in their efforts to comply with EHS requirements.
Report all work related injuries or illnesses within 24 hours of the occurrence - where this is not possible, as soon as practicable.
Advise Supervisor/Manager of non-work injuries/illnesses to ensure that there is no further risk of injury/illness from the job, as appropriate.
Achievement of agreed annual SGA Pacific corporate financial targets and performance.
Continuous Improvement in overall Manufacturing performance inclusive of but not limited to:
Successful implementation of World Class Manufacturing Practices
leading to Audit Performance score improvement with leading to achievement of Bronze status
External and Internal customer focussed at all times
Production experience in a high volume, low cost environment
Motivate team members with WCM - continuous improvement initiatives and culture within the business.
Process Improvement and streamline practices
People development and motivation
Occupational Health, Safety and Environment
WCM Project implementation
Assist with Plant Capex Budget implementation.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
Technical & Interpersonal Skills
Formal Qualification in Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, TQM or Kaizen
LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Thorough Knowledge of methodology of WCM and techniques like TPM/TQM and problem solving tools
Demonstrates a high level of analytical skills, oral & written communication with both managers & direct reports.
Ability to manage different stakeholders, motivate and coordinate Teams and activities and running projects.
A Thorough understanding of lean concepts and manufacturing processes
Self motivated & has organization skills relevant to the production area.
Demonstrates competent level of computer skills which include SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet and Email.
PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE
