Our NSW Government client is seeking the services of an experienced Senior Communications Officer for a temporary assignment based in Parramatta. Their vision is to ensure that every Aboriginal person in NSW has equal access to, and choice in, affordable housing.
The Senior Communications Officer is responsible for delivering the Department's marketing and communications strategy. The successful candidate will promote the policy priorities of the Department as well as inform and engage with the community to build the Department's reputation among key stakeholders.
The role is also accountable for the implementation and monitoring of stakeholder engagement as well as media and strategic communications initiatives. The role will ensure that all internal and external communications channels are effective and culturally appropriate for its clients and providers. The role is the custodian of the organisation's branding, media channels and internal events and communication.
This is a rare opportunity to work with a respected and talented communications team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs and attitudes as well as the socio-economic position of Aboriginal people within Australian society.
In addition, you will also be responsible for;
Building rapport and reputation within the community via workshops and community events
Connecting with clients and tenants in a positive way
Creating newsletters and being responsible for social media updates
You should be available for an immediate start and possess the following key attributes essential to the role;
Excellent MS Office skills as well as Adobe Illustrator amongst other media software
Experience with film editing would be advantageous
Proven ability to prioritise competing tasks
Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
NSW Government experience within a similar role is highly desirable
