About the role
Working with the passionate and motivated Volunteer and Community Engagement team, you will be responsible for the evaluation and design of CCQ’s volunteer programs and strategies with a clear focus on creating a rewarding and engaging volunteer experience. You will work closely with volunteer staff managers to provide advice, guidance and feedback to support effective recruitment, recognition and supervision of volunteers.
The Advisor, Volunteer Engagement will be focused on continuous improvement, volunteer development, state-wide program implementation and ultimately creating a wonderful experience for our volunteer workforce.
The position will also supervise and lead CCQs northern regions Administration, Retail and Facilities Coordinators with support from the Brisbane office.
This is a full time, permanent position based in our Cairns, Townsville or Rockhampton office.
To be successful you must be passionate about volunteers! You will have knowledge and understanding of volunteering best practice and demonstrable experience of applying this within a community or not-for-profit sector. The successful candidate will be creative and a team player with sound judgement in decision making and problem solving. They will also have experience leading a team, desirably one that is remotely located and be able to engage with stakeholders from across the business.
You will have excellent communication skills and experience working as part of a team, preferably experience working remotely. You will draw on these communication skills to effectively coach, collaborate and advise volunteers and multi-functional team members across the state. You will have the flexibility to travel throughout FNQ and a sense of the unique needs and characteristics of regional Queenslanders.
