The eSafety Commissioner is an independent statutory office supported by the Australian Communications and Media Authority under the Enhancing Online Safety Act 2015 (the Act). The Commissioner has a wide range of functions and powers including promoting online safety for Australians, administering a complaints system for cyber bullying material targeted at an Australian child, coordinating activities of Commonwealth Departments, authorities and agencies relating to online safety and administering the online content scheme under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992. The Office has operations in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. It is comprised of the Commissioner, an Executive Manager and sections, each led by a Section Manager.
You will work in a small collaborative team that prides itself on excellent working relationships and producing quality, evidenced based eSafety resources. You will be responsible for drafting web content, briefs and reports. The role requires a person who communicates clearly, has an up to date understanding of current technology and social media trends and can provide high level project support to the eSafety Outreach and Education program.
You will also be required to have an understanding of Australia’s education system and work closely with key education stakeholders.
The role requires solid planning and organisational skills. You will need to iterate ideas and solutions to meet deadlines, balancing detail and quality, with efficiency and vision.
