Position Information
Thornton Public School is in the lower Hunter area of NSW and currently has 652 students, with 11% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school services Defence Force families through the employment of a Defence School Transition Aide. Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach K-6 with demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching practices and creating an environment that supports quality teaching and student wellbeing.
Excellence in ability to differentiate literacy and numeracy programs, utilising data analysis to guide and inform improvement in student outcomes to cater for 21st Century learning.
Willingness and capacity to enhance extracurricular activities including public speaking and debating.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with the
capacity to collaboratively organise and structure gifted and talented student programs across the whole school and build positive relationships with students, staff and community.
