The Associate Dean, Professional Practice and Learning will be responsible for leading, designing and implementing innovations in the medical program to ensure that graduates continue to be well prepared for professional practice and for a career in medicine, capable of working effectively in changing healthcare environments, and ready for the life-long learning and training that a professional career requires.
The Associate Dean will provide strategic advice and lead in key areas in learning and teaching, leveraging opportunities from the rapid growth of Western Sydney, integration of research and engagement with communities locally and internationally ensuring that programs are student-centred and lead to high quality learning outcomes.
The position will focus on:
Ensuring robust and sustainable pathways into and throughout the medical degree that interleave and connect students with research, community and professional practice learning experiences during and after the medical degree.
Leading learning and assessment of the knowledge, skills and attributes needed for medical professional practice and professionalism.
Ensuring competency for professional practice by enhancing learning and assessment in clinical education, including technology enhanced approaches.
Working with the University Academic Division and School leadership to: -
(1) support, develop and reward excellence in teaching,
(2) enhance access, retention and success in medicine, and
(3) develop the quality, relevance and attractiveness of Western Sydney University academic programs.
The appointee must be committed to the education of future medical practitioners.
This is a full time, 5 year fixed term appointment.

Remuneration Package :
Professor (Academic Level E) $201,343 p.a. (comprising salary $182,548 p.a.; 9.5% Superannuation and Leave Loading).
In addition to base salary a pro rata Clinical Loading will be paid where eligible.
